  • Add milk and buttermilk to 4 quart pan. Add margarine, sugar and salt and stir. Warm to baby bottle warm. In meantime pour yeast over warm water and let set about 10 minutes. Preheat oven to 400 degrees and let set for about 2 minutes and then cut off. Add yeast mixture to milk mixture, and then add flour in about 2 cup increments mixing well, to make a soft dough.
  • Flour board and knead dough about 8 to 10 minutes, adding flour to board to keep dough from sticking. Set in oven and let raise until about doubled, approximately one hour. Pinch rolls off into balls about golf ball size, makes about 24. Let raise again, approximately 45 minutes.
  • Bake on metal cookie sheet on top rack of preheated oven approximately 12 to 15 minutes until top is brown. Butter tops as soon as out of oven.
