  • Beat granulated sugar, brown sugar and shortening until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well. Sift flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt into another bowl. Add flour mixture to sugar mixture; mix well. Add oats, Post Bran and Corn Flakes and coconut; mix well.
  • Roll cookie dough between palms to form small, walnut size or slightly larger balls. Place balls on well - greased baking sheets; flatten balls with tines of a fork. If desired, press walnut half in center of each.
  • Bake in a preheated 350 degrees F oven 12 - 15 minutes, or until done. Transfer cookies to wire racks to cool.

By the time I added all the oats, and cereal and coconut, I was using my hands to mix this mixture.
