  • Peel and cut potatoes into chunks (wash thoroughly). Put potatoes into six cups of water and season with salt and pepper to your taste. Boil until potatoes are almost done.
  • Cut wieners into 1/2 inch slices and put into pot with potatoes. Pour off juice in beans and pour beans, tomatoes and tomato sauce into pot. Continue boiling until potatoes are tender.
  • Season again with salt and pepper to taste. Cut 1-2 slices of cheese into squares and drop into your bowl of soup.

Notes

If you like, fry a few hocakes of your favorite cornbread and dip into soup. Especially good on cold winter nights. I used to fix this on a regular basis, at least every 2 weeks or so. My family loved it, and it's so easy to make.
