  • Mix the oil and wine in a medium pot and bring to a boil. Once boiled, cool to lukewarm. Once lukewarm, add the rest of the ingredients and add only enough flour to make dough soft and able to knead by hand on a board.
  • Take some of the dough and roll into a ball then roll out the dough to the shape of a breadstick. Cut into 1" pieces and roll against a grater for texture. That will hold the honey better.
  • Take the 1" pieces and fry in hot oil until golden brown. Don't fry too long or the cookies will be hard.
  • In a frying pan, put about 1" of honey and heat on low until warm. Once cookies are drained of excess hot oil, place them in the warm honey. Roll the cookies until they have a glaze.
  • Take cookies out of the honey and place on a plate or cookie platter. Sprinkle a little sugar, granulated or decorative, to hold the honey.
