  • In a large bowl cream the shortening and the sugar. Add the eggs, extract, and milk. In a medium bowl mix the dry ingredients EXCLUDING THE KOOL-AID with a wire whisk. Add the dry ingredients to the large bowl. Mix with mixer until well combined. With hands, shape dough into 3 separate balls.
  • In a separate bowl add 1 package of your favorite flavor unsweetened KOOL-AID. Mix until color is evenly distributed into dough ball. Repeat with other two balls using different flavors and colors of KOOL-AID. Roll out each ball between sheets of waxed paper. For crisp cookies, roll dough paper thin. For softer cookies, roll 1/8 " to 1/4" thick. Refrigerate for 1 hour.
  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Lightly grease cookie sheets. With floured cookie cutter, cut into shapes. Re-roll trimmings and cut. Alternately roll dough into balls and press out with fork. Sprinkle with sugar.
  • Place cookies 1/2-inch apart on cookie sheets. Bake 8 minutes or until very light brown. With pancake turner, remove cookies to racks; cool.


Any sugar cookie recipe will work. Add 1 packet of KOOL-AID for every 1 cup of sugar in recipe.
