  • Stir 2 cups boiling water into gelatin till dissolved. Do not add any cold water to gelatin. Add vanilla ice cream into gelatin and mix well with whisk till all blended together. Set aside.
  • Take angel food cake or sponge cake and pull off thin slices. Place 1/2 of the cake pulled apart into a 13x9 pan, reserving other half. Pour the gelatin mixture slowly over cake just to coat, and then add half of the strawberries flat side down. Repeat with remaining cake, gelatin, and strawberries.
  • Place in refrigerator covered for at least 5 hours to set. Can be spooned out into dessert cups to serve.
