  • Prepare and bake the cake in a 9x13 pan according to directions provided on the box. As the cake is baking, prepare the Jell-O as directed on box.
  • Once the cake is removed from the oven (still warm), poke the cake with several holes with a toothpick. Pour the Jell-O mixture over the cake.
  • Chill in the refrigerator for approximately 3-4 hours. Frost with Cool Whip.

Special Equipment Needed


Low fat works as well for cake mix and Cool Whip topping. This makes a wonder summer dessert and all the kids love it! I have made it with blue and red Jell-O Gelatin for a 4th of July cake or green and red for Christmas. It is always a hit. You can prepare this recipe with regular ingredients or with low fat products. It comes out great with either choice.
