  • Slightly toast bagels if so desired. Spread cream cheese lavishly onto bottom half of bagel, save top half for next serving. Each serving is half a bagel.
  • Top with 2 folded slices of Lox and one or two slices of red onion (sliced at a medium width). Add about one teaspoon of capers and add pepper and perhaps a tiny pinch of salt to bagel. Enjoy.
  • Salt will probably not be needed, due to the saltiness of Lox and capers.

Special Equipment Needed


This is great for a New Year's Eve toast snack accompanied with Champagne, as well as a great breakfast on Christmas day or on Christmas Eve. Not a lot of mess and no clean up. This is also great on pumpernickel bread. Serve with extra capers on side and some sparkling beverage. This will sophisticate any gathering or may just be an elegant treat for your family.
