  • Drain vegetables take off all liquids. Slice and chop the onion and pepper. Combine in a large bowl. Add celery seed.
  • Combine: sugar, vegetable oil and red wine vinegar. Stir together and pour over vegetables. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Stir together, cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or more.

Notes

I got this receipe from a friend but at the time it asked for one and a half cups sugar 1 cup oil and vinegar. I wanted to reduce the amount of sugar and finally reached this mix, that I really like. Not too sweet or tart. I really think that the longer it marinates the better it gets!
