  • Mix all ingredients, except lemon juice & oregano, in large bowl. When forming meatballs, wet hands in cool water to shape into 2-3" meatballs.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet. Add meatballs & fry, on a low flame, turning frequently, until nicely browned & cooked thoroughly & evenly. Remove meatballs from pan, place in a bowl, & set aside.
  • To the pan containing the oil, add lemon juice, & oregano, & saute for 2-3 minutes. Pour mixture over meatballs. Serve hot.


My Mom made these a lot when I was growing up. She cooked on a low flame so as not to burn the oil. She served the meatballs with string beans in a garlic & tomato sauce, salad, & baked potato.
