  • Line bundt cake pan with shortening and preheat oven to 325°F (or as listed on cake box). Next prepare cake in LOWFAT method listed on box using the eggs and applesauce. Mix until well blended. Pour mixture in prepared pan and cook for about 30 min.
  • For berry glaze, heat in sauce pan berries with water, sugar, brown sugar and Crystal Light Packet. Bring to boil and cook until sauce thickens and put on simmer until cake is finished. Cake should be thicker and clean with a toothpick in inserted. Cool cake for 10-20 min and invert pan on plate. Sprinkle with confectioner's sugar.
  • To serve: Cut small sections of cake and put in bowl with ice cream and pour warm berry glaze over top and then pour chocolate syrup over it all.

Special Equipment Needed


The low fat method for cakes varies, use apple sauce for only the amount of oil called for in the recipe. Cook for less time than listed on the box at a slightly lower temp because of the thicker texture of cake. Substitutions: use sugar free chocolate syrup instead of regular, use Splenda instead of sugar or any Crystal Light Packet to give extra flavor and kick. Also you may use low fat vanilla yogurt to save extra calories.
