  • Prepare pasta shells as directed on box and preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • *Pour Over Sauce
  • Saute garlic and 1/2 cup chopped onion in oil. Add tomato juice, tomato paste, chili sauce, sugar, 1/4 teaspoon pepper and 1 teaspoon salt. Simmer 10 minutes.
  • *Meat Filling
  • Brown ground beef and remaining onion. Drain excess fat. Add remaining seasonings and half of the cheese. Cook 5 minutes. Stir in 1/4 cup of the pour over sauce. Remove from heat and cool 5 minutes.
  • Pour half of the sauce in a 3 quart casserole dish. Stuff shells with filling. Place in casserole dish and top with remaining sauce. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. Bake for 30 minutes.
