  • Preheat oven to 375 F. Mix the butter, vanilla, and sugars together. Mix well till light & fluffy. Beat in egg.
  • Then in medium bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Blend into creamed mixture, and then stir in M&Ms; mix well.
  • Put cookies onto ungreased cookie sheet dropping off of a teaspoon about two inches apart. Bake until lightly browned. For chewy cookies, bake 9 to 10 minutes. For crunchy cookies, cook for 11 to 12 minutes. Cool completely on wire wrack.


Store in air tight container. Eat and enjoy. I've been cooking these cookies for 25 years. Both of my boys have teethed on these cookies!! Till this day at Christmas holidays they look for there cookies. Enjoy!!!

    These cookies were decent. I like giant, flat cookies, and these came out too puffy and small. They're probably better if you add chopped nuts, which I didn't.

    Doubled recipe so some could be taken to church for cookie exchange and remainder could be enjoyed by my family. Maybe I made them too small because I ended up with about 9 dozen instead of the expected 6. But they are very, very tasty. And simple to make. Thanks for posting this recipe.
