  • Cream oleo and sugar; add egg and vanilla. Sift in dry ingredients. Blend well. Chill covered until chilled through (about 2 hours).
  • Roll out on floured surface (pastry cloth works great!) Cut into shapes with cookie cutters.
  • Bake in a preheated 400°F oven for 5 - 7 minutes, or until edges are slightly brown. Cool. Frost.

Special Equipment Needed


My mom made these for us when we were kids - she used the 1 lb. coffee can to make really big cookies, and put our names (and our friends') on the cookies. May be baked in a pizza pan for a great big cookie. This is a great dough, since it's made with powdered sugar, it is easy to handle. Just make sure to chill thoroughly. Enjoy!! You may also roll into 1" balls, roll in sugar and smash with the bottom of a sugar-dipped glass. Bake as before. Omit frosting.
