  • Mix egg yolks and ice water whipping very well with fork. Stir in flour and baking soda. Mixture will be lumpy.
  • Arrange Swiss cheese on 3 slices of bread, top with 2 slices of turkey on each. Place bread on turkey, top with American cheese and 2 slices of ham on each, ending with slice of bread. Be sure no meat or cheese hanging off sides. Flatten sandwiches with hand by pressing down firmly to flatten slightly.
  • Then cut sandwiches in half and dip in batter. Let excess batter drip off and fry sandwich in fryer, until golden brown and floats to top of oil about 7 minutes or so. Place as many halves in deep fat fryer as will allow.
  • When cooked, drain on paper towel. When all pieces are done and cool enough to touch, cut in half and sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve with raspberry jam. I serve this with onion rings or fried mushrooms.


Michael's Favorite - This makes 4 servings as this sandwich is very filling. It is a bit of work but worth it. This is not good cold or reheated in microwave.
