  • Heat oven to 450 degrees F. Pour just enough oil to cover bottom and coat sides of skillet. Place skillet with oil in oven while heating.
  • Mix first 5 ingredients together. After heating skillet, pour off hot oil into batter, mix. Mix just a little milk into batter to make pourable.
  • Pour 1/2 mixture into hot skillet. Cover with 1/2 of the cheddar cheese. Pour other 1/2 of mixture on top. Sprinkle the rest of the cheddar cheese on top.
  • Bake for about 25 minutes, or until top gets golden brown. Let sit and cool a while. Will be moist inside from the melted cheese. The longer it sits, the firmer it gets.


Great on a cold day with chili or just by itself.
