  • Empty boxes of instant pudding mix in medium bowl. Mix in the milk and the sweetened condensed milk. Beat or mix (I like to beat the mix to get out all the lumps) the pudding mix until creamy.
  • In a large bowl, layer a handful of the vanilla wafers, then a handful of the bananas, then about half the pudding mix, then about half the Cool Whip. Repeat the layers.
  • Let sit in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.

Special Equipment Needed

We have eaten it like this, without even putting it in the fridge because the pudding seems to harden if you beat it, but it is better if you let it sit in the fridge for at least 30 minutes. It is even better if you give it enough time for the cookies to soften. If you take a butter knife and lightly swirl the top layer of Cool Whip with a little of the Pudding Mix underneath, it makes a neat and fun design. The next time I make it, I will be sure to take a picture to submit to show you how beautiful it comes out. This is a really creamy and sweet recipe. My husband is not a big sweet eater, but loves his momma's banana pudding (which is who this recipe came from).
