  • Remove all outside leaves of cabbage and rinse cabbage head. Quarter and remove core of cabbage. Slice cabbage very thin so that it appears shredded. Place cabbage in large bowl. Slice green onions and place on top of cabbage. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate.
  • Crunch noodles in zip lock bag until small (but not too small). Brown noodles and almonds in butter or margarine until light brown. Place aside.
  • Place cooking oil (or olive oil), vinegar, sugar and soy sauce in medium saucepan and bring to boil. Use medium heat. Boil 1 minute and remove from heat. Let cool. Pour dressing into a glass bottle and chill till you are ready to mix and serve salad.
  • When ready to serve shake dressing a good minute and pour over cabbage, and green onions; add noodles & almonds. Mix well. Serve immediately.

Notes

Salad will wilt so serve immediately after you mix together.
