  • Cook the noodles as directed, but don't overcook, putting the frozen veggies in the water to cook with the noodles. Drain.
  • In same pan, mix tuna (broken up), soup, milk, cheese and seasonings and until blended and heated through. A whisk works well to mix.
  • Stir drained noodles and vegetables back into the tuna mixture. Serve.

Special Equipment Needed

The original tuna recipe came from my grandmother. This meal works in the Meals on Hand style which makes it a great last minute meal. I have listed my favorite choices but almost any of the ingredients can be switched out to meet your family preference. I have prepared this with half the noodles or doubling the tuna but always use the same milk and soup quantity. This also works well with canned chicken; substitute your favorite frozen vegetables. If someone is watching calories, the cheese can be sprinkled on top of the individual servings. You can also prepare ahead and reheat in the oven as a baked casserole. Place in casserole dish after prep above. When ready, top with crumbled Ritz Crackers, potato chips, Fritos, or topping of your choice.
