  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Fill a bowl with one cup cold water. Add enough food coloring to create a "blood red" color. Place almonds in the bowl and soak for 5 to 10 minutes. Drain and spread evenly on a baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes, until dry. Set aside to cool.
  • Divide the pizza dough into two balls. Take one ball and roll into a 6 x 16 inch rectangle. Slice into 8, 2-inch wide strips. Place a piece of string cheese on dough and roll to form a "finger-like" shape, making sure to seal properly. Place on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Repeat with second ball of dough.
  • Press an almond onto the end of each “finger”, creating a nail. Mix egg with 2 tablespoons water and brush completed fingers with egg wash. Use a knife and gently press into the fingers to create knuckles. Bake for 15 minutes, or until golden. Remove from oven and serve with marinara sauce.
