  • Preheat your broiler. In a food processor pulse the ham cubes 5 times. Then add the pickles and pulse until they are the consistency of coarse meal (about 5 more times).
  • In a medium sized bowl combine the ham/pickle mixture, mayonnaise, garlic powder, and pickle juice.
  • Place bread slices on a baking sheet. Divide the ham mixture equally between the four slices of bread. Place a slice of Swiss cheese on each slice of bread and sprinkle with paprika if desired.
  • Broil on the top rack for 5 minutes (checking after 3 minutes) or until cheese is melted and bubbling. Serve immediately.
