Oven Baked Cheesy Potatoes

  • Spread potato slices into greased baking pan, drizzle 1/2 butter over potatoes, sprinkle on mixture of onion powder, garlic salt, paprika, pepper and parmesan then drizzle with remaining melted butter.
  • Cover with foil, place in preheated oven on 350 degrees F for 45 minutes or until tender.
  • Uncover, sprinkle on cheddar cheese if desired and return to oven for additional 5-10 minutes to allow cheese to melt and potatoes to crisp and turn golden, (turning on broiler last 5 minutes or so will crisp and brown nicely) being careful not to over brown.


The amounts of spices and cheese can be varied to taste. I use lots of parmesan cheese, onion powder and garlic salt so that after it bakes each potato has a nice brown crust of cheese and spice on it. I've found this is really good with a side of Kraft dressing like Catalina, Creamy French or Thousand Island to dip individual fries in. I have also mixed spices into 1/2 cup Miracle Whip and spread over potatoes before putting on parmesan to add a little extra zip.
