  • Mix first 3 ingredients. Add fruits. Cook and stir till mixture thickens. Add margarine and lemon juice. Pour into 9 inch round baking dish.
  • Sift dry ingredients. Add milk and margarine all at once; beat smooth. Pour over fruit and spread to edges of dish. Mix 2 Tbsp sugar with 1/2 tsp cinnamon. Sprinkle over batter.
  • Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Serve with cream, Cool Whip or vanilla ice cream. Note: When baking this dish, put a piece of aluminum foil under the baking dish - it tends to bubble over, and who wants a messy clean up.

This recipe is delicious when using fresh fruit. I have made this for many years for my family and they still keep asking for it every year. This recipe is not my original - I found it in a Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook from 1965. I received the book as a wedding gift, and the recipe page is thoroughly dotted with various ingredients.
