  • Soak peas overnight.....Boil in same water till done. Do not over-cook. Peas should be whole not mushy. (There should be about 2 cups of boiled peas.) Strain.
  • In a separate pan-fry bacon, which has been cut in small pieces, add chopped onion. Sautee till onion is cooked. Add butter. Stir in flour, and then blend in the sour cream and liquid from mushrooms. Cook till thickened.
  • Add mushrooms and cooked peas. Heat....mixture should be quite thick. If desired: it may be thinned with a little milk.

1 pkg. frozen peas can be substituted for dried peas........This recipe was given to me by my sister "Louise" I cook this recipe when I am going to have fried pork chops, never no left overs....enjoy, mary
