  • In one bowl mix persimmon pulp, spices, and soda.
  • In a large bowl cream sugar, shortening & eggs.
  • In a bowl mix flour, nuts and raisins (this keeps the nuts and raisins from going to the bottom of the bowl or sticking together).
  • Add persimmon pulp and soda mixture to creamed mixture. Add flour mixture and blend well.
  • Drop tablespoons of dough on ungreased baking pan. Bake at 350 for 12 to 15 minutes. Serve warm with Kraft Cool Whip and watch them disappear.

Notes

I have not found anyone who hasn't fell in love with these wonderful fall cookies. So you can fix them at Christmas take the addition pulp, measure and put into a freezer bag and keep for up to 4 months.
