  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Season pork chops with salt and pepper, onion and garlic powder. Cover with flour and brown in skillet.
  • Then prepare a 13x 9 in baking dish by coating with butter. Cover bottom of dish with cubed potatoes.
  • Then add sauerkraut with its juice to cover the potatoes and place browned pork chops on top of the sauerkraut.
  • Cover dish with aluminum foil. Cook for 1 hour or until potatoes are cooked.


Change seasoning if desired, but the effect of the kraut on the Chops is incredible.

    This was a wonderful recipe! Mom made this so often, however, she added a coarsely chopped apple. So did I. The chopped apple was scattered on top of the kraut. This was a warm, comforting dish for a cool Colorado Autum evening.
