Preserve Filled Pastry Cookies

  • Mix butter, cream cheese, flour and egg yolks. Roll into large marble size balls (approx. 65 - 70) and refrigerate overnight.
  • Roll out flat, about 6 at a time. Keep others in refrigerator while you work. Put about 1/2 teaspoon preserve in center of rolled out dough, fold over and seal.
  • Bake in moderate oven (350°F) 15 minutes. Dust completely with powdered sugar when cool. Do not double recipe.

Special Equipment Needed


Not a good tasting dough as no sweet ingredients are in it. Be careful not to get preserves on edges as it will stick to the pan and also burn while baking. These are a lot of work, but delicious. Best preserves to use (I find) are apricot, peach or strawberry. Enjoy. These are my husbands and friends favorites.
