  • Soak 3/4 cup raisins in a small bowl of water for about 3 hours. At the same time soak 3/4 cup pecans in a small bowl of water for about 3 hours. Slice the pecans into thin slices cross wise after soaking.
  • Combine Kraft Mayonnaise, sugar, vinegar, and 1/4 cup of the reserved cherry juice together to a thin dressing consistency and refrigerate.
  • Combine apples, raisins, pecans and cherries in a large bowl. Pour the dressing mixture over the fruit mixture and stir gently. Refrigerate and serve cold.

My mother invented this recipe for Thanksgiving one year and from then on it has become a tradition. I'm not exactly sure of the measurements because this is the first time this recipe has ever been written down. It is one of my father's favorite recipes. It's just not Thanksgiving or Christmas with out it.
