  • Combine dry cake mix, 1 1/4 cup root beer, oil and eggs. Beat on low speed for 2 minutes or stir by hand for 3 min. Pour into a greased 13 x 9 x 2 baking pan.
  • Bake at 350°F for 30-35 min or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
  • Combine the whipped topping mix and remaining root beer. Beat until soft peaks form. Frost cake. Store in the refrigerator.

    Have made this recipe many, many times. My four children absolutely LOVE it. We are quite partial to the frosting so I usually make a double batch for the cake.

    This was a really good cake, except it the cake part didn't have much root beer flavor. I would make it again, adding root beer extract next time to the cake. The "frostng" was awesome! I could have eaten a whole bowl of just that!

    This recipe was very good and very easy. It was also suggested to me that you could use any flavor soda and it would turn out just as good.
