  • Can be made on top of the stove or in a Slow Cooker, therefore adjust the cooking time accordingly.
  • Trim meat of fat and cut into small cubes. Sear meat with chopped onions until meat is browned and onions are translucent. Dissolve 2 beef bouillon cubes in 1 cup hot water.
  • In a large pot or Slow Cooker (Crock-Pot) ADD: 1 cup of red wine (good enough to drink), cubed meat & onions, beef broth and 1 package of dry Italian dressing mix (reg. or "Zesty").
  • Cover and cook all day or overnight for slow cooker or 3 - 4 hours on low for stove top. When meat is tender, mash it or use a fork to shred the beef. Serve on buns.


I have served this in various ways! In burritos and tacos or in a bowl topped with shredded cheese and crisp tortilla chips for dipping. Very easy and a crowd pleaser! Great for a pot luck or party.
