  • In 2-qt. pot combine bouillon and 1.5 quarts water. Bring to a boil. Reduce to med/low heat.
  • Add steak, carrots, potatoes, salt and pepper. Cook over med/low heat for approx. 30 minutes or until carrots are tender. Shut off heat.
  • Combine in a measuring cup the 1/3 cup water and cornstarch. Stir till thoroughly mixed. Slowly stir cornstarch mixture into stew and allow to sit for approximately 15 minutes. Stir again before serving.


To make this hearty I usually leave the skins on the potatoes and carrots. It's a nice natural flavor and the meat melts in your mouth! Serve with fresh baked bread and butter, and you feel like you are back in the old logging days of New England!
