  • Brown ground beef, may add 1/2 of onion and garlic during browning. Drain meat, and add to slow cooker. Open tomato products and add to slow cooker. Add remaining onions, garlic, Italian seasoning and crushed red pepper.
  • Heat on high for about 1 hour, and then turn down slow cooker to low. Cook for 4-8 hours stirring occasionally.
  • Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions, about 7 minutes. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 13x9 inch pan. Put enough sauce to cover bottom of pan. Begin to layer, put about 3 lasagna noodles in pan, cover with sauce, sprinkle shredded cheeses, mozzarella and small amount of cheddar cheese on. Continue doing layers until every thing is used up. Remember to save largest amount of sauce and cheeses for the very top.
  • Cook in the oven until golden brown, about 30 to 45 minutes. It is a good idea to put a cookie sheet under your pan to help catch the drips. Remove from oven and let stand for 10-15 minutes before cutting. Serve.

Special Equipment Needed


I use a slow cooker to help blend in the flavor. You can cook this on top of the stove too, just remember to stir often. You may use oregano, basil, thyme and a pinch or rosemary in place of Italian seasoning.
