  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 9x13" pan with foil. Make a single layer of soda crackers in pan.
  • In sauce pan, bring sugar and butter to a boil, continue to boil for 2 minutes, stir. Pour slowly and evenly over crackers.
  • Bake for 5-7 minutes, the crackers will float. Remove from oven and sprinkle with chocolate chips. When they melt, spread chocolate evenly. Sprinkle with chopped nuts.
  • Let candy harden, then lift foil out of pan. This normally takes about 1 hour. Break or chop into bite size pieces.

Special Equipment Needed


Keeps very well in the freezer. If you refrigerate the toffee it cools much faster. The soda crackers make the toffee crunchy, you can't taste them. This is a simple and wonderful recipe created by my grandmother.
