  • I turn the slow cooker on high and add 1/2 cup of water. Then add the pork with salt and pepper to give the meat some flavor.
  • Meanwhile, dice up the celery and potatoes, then add them to the pot. I do not skin the potatoes, just cut into cubes and throw them in along with the carrots. Then add the diced tomatoes.
  • I usually start adding the seasonings about 1 hour after it starts and then about 1 hour before it ends. Make sure the liquid covers the vegetables. If it doesn't, then just add water or a can of tomato sauce. You can tell when it's ready when the vegetables are tender (about 5 hours).


Prep time is 20 minutes or less. I use a slow cooker liner so it's easy for clean up when you're finished. This is a very simple meal to make and usually lasts 3 days in my home. It has a nice Italian flavor.
