"Stampede" Sirloin on a Bun

  • Barbecue the roast by indirect method or on a spit. Baste with some of the barbecue sauce. Cook until medium rare, let stand, thinly slice.
  • In a large pan saute onions, garlic and peppers in oil. Place into a large pot with sliced beef.
  • Add all remaining ingredients and the rest of the barbecue sauce. Simmer for 4 - 6 hours or until very, very tender.
  • Serve with crusty rolls or slice of French bread.


I also like to use yellow and orange peppers, as well as more wine and garlic. You can also add a Tbsp. or two of HY's Seasoning Salt, but remember to cut down on the other salt. I also like to use my own homemade barbeque sauce, when I have it on hand. I have used lesser cuts of beef and have had good results. For vegetarians, I have also substituted vegetable broth for the sauce and sauteed slices of tofu for the beef!!
