  • Preheat oven 350 degrees F. Prepare white cake mix according to package. Grease and flour 2-9" cake pans: pour batter into pans. Bake cakes until toothpick inserted into cakes is clean, approx. 25-30 min. Allow cakes to cool.
  • Meanwhile, prepare Jell-O according to package (do not chill). Hold back 8-10 strawberries for the top. Slice the berries and put in medium bowl and sprinkle with the sugar or Splenda. Mix thoroughly. Chill for 30 min.
  • Beat whipping cream in medium bowl on high until peaks form. Add confectioners’ sugar and vanilla until thoroughly mixed.
  • Put one of the layers of the cake on plate or platter. Take a straw and push down into layer to make holes in layer, approx. 10 holes. Pour Jell-O into the holes of the cake. Place the sliced strawberries on top. Dollop with 1/2 of the whipped cream. Put other layer on top. Use straw again and poke 10 holes in top layer and pour Jell-O in top layer. Cover with remaining whipping cream and garnish with reserved strawberries. Keep refrigerated.
