  • Defrost Cool Whip. Follow instructions on cake mix box. Once mixed, divide batter into two bowls. In one bowl add Jell-O Strawberry Gelatin Powder. Mix well. In a greased cake pan, fill one half with strawberry batter and fill the other half with yellow batter. Take a fork and swirl the batters. Bake according to the instructions on the box.
  • While the cake is baking. Make two boxes of Jell-O Vanilla Instant Pudding. Refrigerate. Wash and cut up fresh strawberries into quarters. When cake is finished baking, allow to cool. Cut cake into small squares.
  • In a trifle bowl, place one layer of cake squares. Then place a layer of fresh strawberries followed by a layer of vanilla pudding. Finally place a layer of Cool Whip. Repeat the layers listed above in the same order. Cover trifle with plastic wrap and refrigerate until serving. Serve trifle with a spoon onto plates.

Special Equipment Needed


This a great cool and refreshing dessert for a hot summer day. Feel free to substitute different berries. When serving, fresh strawberries may be placed on the top layer of Cool Whip for a decorative and a delicious finish.
