  • Mix hamburger, eggs, onion (optional), seasonings, and bread crumbs together.
  • Form a meatloaf but leave a hollow spot in center and place the cheese and a little spaghetti sauce inside and cover with remaining hamburger. It should now look like a loaf with cheese in the center.
  • Place in pan and cover the whole loaf with spaghetti sauce and shredded cheese.
  • Bake for 1 hr at 350°F. Serve over cooked spaghetti.

Notes

String cheese works great, but the cheese in the middle is optional. It is delicious with or without.

I used 95% lean ground sirloin, & fresly sliced parmensan cheese as a substitute, and added a layer of cooked chopped spinach. I cut the recipe in half as I'm cooking for myself these days. But, I'd like to see the serving portions for excellent dishes like this. Serves=?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from i thought this was good i did switch it up a bit didnt use the sausage, added more bacon bits (the... i thought this was good i did switch it up a bit didnt use the sausage, added more bacon bits (the whole bag), put it in layers in the pan, altogether it was really awsome served with salad and garlic bread everyone loved it. i would definately make this again.

I did make this the other nite...the next time I make it I will only put in 3 cups of noodles and add more spg. sauce...We all thought it was a little dry but enjoyed it other than that...I also added a can of diced tomatoes...

I didn't use mushrooms because I didn't have any and I used the whole packet of Italian seasoning instead of just one tsp. I also used wheat penne and turkey meat instead of ground meat.
