  • Cut the round steak into 5 or 6 pieces. Shake the steak with the flour, salt and pepper. Brown the steak in the olive oil. Cut the onion into slices, clean the carrots and cut into slices. This can be done in a food proccessor.
  • When the steak is brown, layer the steak, onions, carrots into a 5 quart crock-pot. Top the layers with the whole tomatoes and beef broth.
  • Put the lid on and cook on low for 5 to 6 hours. Serve with rice, potatoes or pasta.

Special Equipment Needed


This can be made the night before and added to the crock-pot in the morning. This recipe is good for last minute company if you make a double batch and freeze one and cook the other.
