  • COOK ground beef on a low heat; adding garlic, paprika, and cumin. You can also add other spices that you like and would be appropriate for tacos. Keeping the heat on a low setting allows for more tender and flavorful meat. When meat is done cooking put in a bowl and set aside. Get all remaining grease out of the pan to avoid the canola oil from splattering.
  • HEAT up canola oil at a medium heat. You want it hot enough to cook tortillas but not so hot that it will cook too fast. Put tortilla in heated oil and flip it. Only allow it to be on either side for one to two seconds. Put back in oil. Add 2 tbsp. of meat in the center in a line and fold tortilla in half. Cook on either side for a few seconds until taco is golden brown and hard. Corn tortillas will get harder than flour.
  • REMOVE taco from oil and set it aside in a cookie sheet lined with paper towels. Add cheese. Repeat until all ingredients are gone.

Special Equipment Needed

My family enjoys these tacos and my parents made them while I was growing up. Better than going to fast food and allows for family time. Adding lettuce and salsa make the tacos even better!
