  • Prepare all ingredients (chop onions, mushrooms,. . ) and then combine with ground turkey. Mix with hands, but do not over mix. Add a shake or two of olive oil to meat, because it is turkey, it does not have the natural fats of beef.
  • Patty the burgers to the size of your choice.
  • Burgers can be grilled, baked, or cooked in the skillet. Cook about 5-10 min each side, or until done.

Notes

When you are ready to patty the burgers, make a patty about the size of a quarter and cook it. It should only take a couple min. Then taste test it to see if you have your seasonings just right. Havarti is a soft cheese bought in the specialty cheese section of your grocery store. About ten minutes before you cut it, place it in the freezer to harden it up and make it easier to chop. This is a great recipe if you are on a low-carb diet. It has so much flavor that most of my family don't use a bun or condiments, you can serve it on lettuce and it’s delicious.
