  • Mix sour cream and taco seasoning together in bowl, and set aside.
  • In a large shallow pan, evenly spread: refried beans, sour cream mixture, guacamole, and salsa (in that order). Next, top with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and olives.
  • Chill for 1/2 hour. Serve with tortilla chips.

Guacamole dip will work for this recipe, but the dip tends to be salty, so if you can get your hands on real guacamole it works best. I'm the assistant kitchen manager at a large restaurant in Minnesota, and I made this for our Christmas party this year and everyone loved it.

OMG! This is the best "7-layer" dip I've made/eaten. I made this for my department's Christmas lunch and everyone loved it. I noticed that even though I used chunky salsa it was still a bit runny. I made this on Saturday for a party my husband and I went to and it was a hit again!! I strained the salsa before layering it on the dip and that solved my "runny" issue. I had leftovers from the party on Saturday and those are awesome too. Thanks for the great recipe!!

I made this for a pot luck at my sons Kindergartn and it was a big hit! even the kids ate it. The only thing I changed was omit the taco seasoning and used chopped tomatoes instead of salsa.
