  • Combine all ingredients together with spoon and mix well. Roll into small balls & pat into cakes about 2 1/2-inch – 3-inch diameter & 1-inch thick. Press into a bowl or plate of Italian breadcrumbs and form cakes lightly covering the outside of them.
  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Place about 2-3 Tbsp. of olive oil in pan and place in oven while pre-heating. After oil is hot, place cakes in and sprinkle some olive oil over the top of the cakes.
  • Bake for about 15-20 minutes until golden brown, and then flip once. Again sprinkle some olive oil on top if needed. Bake for another 15-20 minutes or until browned.


Serve with cocktail, tarter, lemon and/or mustard Sauce. Cakes can be pre-made and frozen - but defrost before cooking. Cakes can also be pre-made and brought to a party and cooked there. For smaller gatherings (2-6 people), recipe can be cut in half. Fresh lump crab meat can be used or pasteurized. I use Philips Pasteurized because the taste is great and there are no bones, which you will have to be very careful about when using fresh crab meat.
