  • Slice the onions into 1/4 - 1/2 inch slices. Put the butter into a large pot and melt on low heat. Add the onions and stir until coated. Continue stirring until the onions are softened.
  • Add 9 cups of water. Bring to a boil. Add the bouillon cubes and stir until they are dissolved. Bring to a boil. Turn down heat and simmer for about 5 or 10 minutes until the onions are to your liking.
  • Place a roll or a large slice of Italian Bread in a bowl. Place 2 slices of mozzarella, Munster or Swiss cheese over the roll. Pour the very hot soup into the bowl. The cheese will melt from the soup.


Quick and Easy Soup Put a plate under the hot bowl when serving any hot soup to avoid burning yourself.
