Warm Blueberry Dumplings

  • Stir flour, 1 Tbsp of sugar, baking powder, and salt together in a small bowl. Using a pastry cutter/fork, cut butter into flour mixture until crumbly. Add milk to form a dough. Set aside.
  • In a medium saucepan, combine blueberries, water, and the remaining sugar together. Bring to a boil. Once boiling, drop dumplings in using a teaspoon. DO NOT STIR! Gently shake the pan to make sure the dumplings are covered by the blueberries and turn heat down to low. Allow to simmer for at least 20 minutes with a lid on. DO NOT REMOVE LID BEFORE 20 MINUTES HAS PASSED!
  • Once the dumplings have cooked to the consistency you prefer, ladle them into a bowl and serve with ice cream.

Special Equipment Needed


Depending on how thick/thin you want your dumpling mixture to be, add more or less water, but don't use any less than one cup or any more than two.
