  • Cut beef cubes into bite size pieces. Empty flour into a plastic bag. Add the beef cubes and shake just to cover with flour.
  • In a Dutch oven, heat up 3 tablespoons vegetable oil. Add the beef cubes and cook until browned. While beef is browning cook the bacon until crispy. Save about 3 tablespoons of the bacon grease. Break the bacon into small pieces. Cut onions into small chunks.
  • Slice mushrooms. Cut carrots into bite size pieces. Cut salami into 1/2 inch pieces.
  • When beef is done browning add all the remaining ingredients including the bacon grease. Add salt and pepper to taste. Cover and simmer over low heat for 2 hours. Juices will thicken while cooking. Serve over egg noodles. Butter one loaf of French bread and cut into serving pieces.


This is a great meal to have on a cold frosty day when you need something to Warm Up your insides. The bacon grease and salami give this stew a great flavor.
