  • Roast a 4 lb. to 5 lb. square cut rump roast, uncovered, at 350 degrees until done (long slow roast). Remove roast from roaster, cover and keep warm. Place 1/2 cup roast drippings into a large heavy roasting pan. Be sure to leave some drippings in original roasting pan to make gravy. If you need more drippings for the Yorkshire Pudding, use the suet. Increase oven temperature to 425 degrees.
  • Put roaster pan with drippings from roast and added suet into oven to get hot. Any added suet should be completely melted and drippings should be very hot before adding
  • Batter: Combine all (eggs, milk and dry ingredients) in batter bowl. Pour into hot drippings. Bake for 35 to 45 minutes until puffy and golden brown.

Special Equipment Needed

Time to make does not include roasting the roast. Serve with gravy. All time family favorite. A specialty.
