Rated 4 out of 5 by from I chopped up a bell pepper and added a couple of shakes of chili powder. I chopped up a bell pepper and added a couple of shakes of chili powder. I also browned the sausage with the bell pepper before I added the rest of the ingredients. I agree with those who said this isn't really "jambalaya" without shrimp and some other key ingredients, but it was very good regardless.

I keep the ingredients in this recipe on hand so I can throw it together whenever nothing else sounds good. My children are small and I like how I can make this mild enough for them, but add Louisiana hot sauce to mine at the table to make it delicious.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I was very dissapointed! I was very dissapointed! I omitted the hot-sauce because I don't have any, but used red pepper. However, this tasted like tomato flavored rice with sausage. I suggest using a different recipe, either from this site, or many others!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quick, easy & delicious! Quick, easy & delicious! Added a pound of sausage & a drained can of corn. We did think it needed a little more spice since I added extras to it; tbsp instead of tsp.
