  • Heat oil in large nonstick skillet on medium-high heat. Add meat; season with salt and pepper. Cook 8 min. or until meat is cooked through, stirring frequently. Remove meat from skillet; cover to keep warm.
  • Add water, rice, apples, cranberries and mustard to skillet; mix well. Bring to boil on medium-high heat. Reduce heat to medium-low; simmer 5 min. Remove from heat; cover. Let stand 5 min.
  • Spoon rice mixture onto serving platter; top with the meat mixture. Sprinkle with onions and walnuts.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This was delicious. This was delicious. Though, I'll admit, my husband & I altered the recipe a bit for our liking. We added 1.5 Tbsp of spicy mustard & an extra .5 Tbsp of Dijon mustard. We added another apple & more cranberries & walnuts. It is a wonderful hearty meal though that we will definitely be cooking again!

This recipe is horrible....it doesn't call for enough water so by the time the rice cooks the apples get soggy. There is absolutely no flavor with this recipe. I ended up dumping all of it out.
