  • Rinse 5 (1-cup) plastic containers and lids with boiling water. Dry thoroughly. Remove and discard strawberry stems. Crush strawberries thoroughly, 1 cup at a time. Measure exactly 2 cups prepared fruit into large bowl. Stir in sugar. Let stand 10 min., stirring occasionally.
  • Mix water and pectin in small saucepan. Bring to boil on high heat, stirring constantly. Continue boiling and stirring 1 min. Add to fruit mixture; stir 3 min. or until most the sugar is dissolved. (A few sugar crystals may remain.)
  • Fill containers immediately to within 1/2 inch of tops. Wipe off top edges of containers; immediately cover with lids. Let stand at room temperature 24 hours. Jam is now ready to use. Store in refrigerator up to 3 weeks or in freezer up to 1 year. (If frozen, thaw in refrigerator before using.)

CERTO Strawberry Freezer Jam

Omit water and boiling step. Mix 1 pouch CERTO Fruit Pectin and 2 Tbsp. lemon juice in bowl. Stir into fruit mixture in large bowl. Continue as directed. Makes about 4 (1-cup) containers.

How to Measure Sugar Precisely

To get exact level cup measure of sugar, spoon sugar into dry metal or plastic measuring cup, then level by scraping excess sugar from top of cup with a straight-edged knife.

    I have made your DELISH Strawberry Freezer Jam for YEARS and each year have had to more because with each person I give a jar to, they call and ask "If I pay you will you make me a batch. PLEEEEEEZ?" Last year I made many batches and maybe HALF never thickened. I also bought several boxes of SureJell with absolutely NO DIRECTIONS. I know the recipe by heart but with the cost of Organic Strawberries, SureJell and jars I was hesitant to just go ahead. I am in Colorado visiting my daughter and her family and they begged me to make my FAMOUS Strawberry Freezer Jam as they had run out a couple months ago. So last night I put up two batches of freezer jam. I always follow the directions TO THE T and yet again, as did last year, my jam has not set. ***** floating on top, 'syrupy mixture' on the bottom. I am a BIG Facebook user with friends that have thousands of followers and I am going to advise them NOT TO PURCHASE your product. I read the comments of others with the VERY SAME problems I h

    Have been preserving foods for over 30 years including freezer jams. This is the first time that the strawberry jam did not set. Followed directions. Frustrating! Costly.. Wasted time and money...What has happened to your product?

    I've been ****** the freezer strawberry jam for years. According to the directions (which are not the same) the jam did not set. I called the 800 number & was told to hold. I did for some time - no operator. This was a waste of time & money - and even worse we miss our favorite jam. Please advise a solution.
